A four-year letter winner, Kunze has that special combination of talent and work ethic. Captain Scott Kunze, whose considerable talents have sparked the interest of several Division 1 colleges, has helped provide leadership. No team, no matter how talented or well coached, can thrive without leadership from its players. Senior sweeper Edison Hajdari, described by Rabel as unflappable and never intimidated, has also been vital to the Rangers success. Seniors Johny Youssef, Scott Anthony, and Scott Eifel have been key contributors with their outstanding skills and tireless work ethic. The defense is in equally good "hands" with, according to Rabel, "fearless" play from senior David Kingsbury, who has come back strong from a concussion suffered over the summer. Junior midfielder Shayne Moravcik, an exceptional athlete that kicks for the football team and lettered in basketball last year, has been a key contributor, as has junior midfielder Veton Esati and senior midfielders Dan Toole (in his first year of high school soccer), Alex Kevedsky, and Dennis Gold. (If you go to a game, and appreciate ball-handling skills, keep your eye on these guys) Senior midfielder David Krems is also an exceptional player that has been chosen for Premier teams. His brother, sophomore midfielder Darlington Nagbe, also a superb talent, was chosen for a summer "Premier" National team reserved for outstanding players under age 15. Senior striker Joe Nagbe, the leading scorer, was chosen last summer to be on a "Premier" Regional Olympic developmental team. Of course, no coach can succeed without dedicated, talented players-of which the Rangers have no shortage. His regime has brought continuity, passion and a thorough knowledge of soccer, all important ingredients to the Rangers success. Just who are these guys, and how did they become so good? According to assistant coach Bill Rabel, Head Coach Winston Jacobs has been instrumental over his ten year tenure in transforming the program into a regional powerhouse. The Rangers posted another shutout against North Olmsted, winning 2-0 on two goals by David Krems. That victory earned a district semifinal match against perennial power North Olmsted at Lakewood Stadium. The Rangers, seeded number one in their district, defeated a stubborn Berea Braves team 5-0 on a damp, cold night. In addition to changing colors for columns, you can also change the color of the plot title. In the output, you can see that the True column is now red. For example, in the following screenshot, red has been selected for the True column. To change the colors of each column separately, switch on the “Show all” slider and then select a new color for each This will open a small window which gives you the option to change the colors of all of your columns. To alter your column colors, click on the “Data colors” You should now see a list of options – as you can see below. To do this, click on the “Format” icon under the different plot icons in the Visualization pane. Let’s see, how we can change the colors of the Now that we have a basic graph let’s look at some formatting. In this video, the patient is intubated, under general anesthesia, and positioned supine with the head resting on a gel donut and turned to the left (contralateral to the fracture). Vacuum-assisted elevation of a ping-pong skull fracture in a neonate. The vacuum application may be repeated as needed to attempt elevation of the depressed fracture however, we prefer to limit this to no more than 5 times if no progress has been attained despite achieving a good seal between the scalp and the suction cup ( Fig. Negative pressures are increased sequentially with the PalmPump to a maximum of 500 mm Hg for a maximum of 20–30 seconds at a time or until an audible pop is heard. Hair clipping may be necessary to achieve a good seal between the suction cup and the scalp. We use the vacuum delivery system with PalmPump (Kiwi OmniCup with Traction Force Indicator VAC-6000MT, Clinical Innovations). Patients early in the series were placed under general anesthesia, while patients later in the series underwent monitored anesthesia care (MAC) without intubation. 1–5, 7–17 Herein, we report our experience with vacuum-assisted elevation of ping-pong skull fractures in pediatric patients and evaluate the variables affecting procedural outcomes.Īll procedures were performed in an operating room with a plan to proceed with open elevation of the fracture via burr hole if vacuum-assisted elevation failed. Since 1970, there have been only 16 publications on nonsurgical treatment for the elevation of depressed skull fractures using negative-pressure (suction) application with various devices. There is currently a paucity of data regarding the use of nonsurgical strategies for the elevation of ping-pong skull fractures in pediatric patients. 2, 6 The management of children with ping-pong skull fractures may include observation alone, nonsurgical treatments, or surgical intervention depending on the age, clinical presentation, imaging findings, and cosmetic appearance of the patient. There have been several reports documenting the spontaneous resolution of these fractures however, this can be a slow process (up to 6 months 6) that is riddled with parental anxiety. In older children, these fractures are commonly related to blunt trauma and falls. 1–5 In the newborn period, this type of fracture can be seen in association with perinatal factors such as cephalopelvic disproportion and obstetrical trauma. A ping-pong fracture is an example of such a fracture and has been compared to green-stick fractures of the long bones. These forces may result in skull depressions that may or may not be associated with an actual fracture, i.e., without loss of bone continuity. T he malleability and plasticity of the pediatric skull make it susceptible to deformation by application of external forces, such as those resulting from intrauterine constraint or trauma. Postprocedure imaging studies revealed no evidence of complications. Two patients required subsequent surgical elevation of their fractures. Successful fracture elevation was attained in 7 of 9 patients. A greater number of sequential vacuum applications was required for patients with a skull thickness greater than 1 mm at the site of depression and for those undergoing treatment more than 72 hours from fracture onset. Negative pressures were increased sequentially to a maximum of 500 mm Hg. The Kiwi OmniCup vacuum delivery system was used in all cases. The time from fracture to intervention ranged from 7 hours to 8 days. Bone thickness ranged from 0.6 to 1.8 mm. Skull depressions ranged from 23 to 62 mm in diameter and from 4 to 14 mm in depth. All fractures involved the parietal bone. All fractures were deemed severe enough to require elevation by the treating neurosurgeon. All patients had normal neurological examination findings and no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage. Modes of injury included birth-related trauma, falls, and blunt trauma. Four neonates and 5 infants underwent vacuum-assisted elevation of moderate to severe ping-pong skull fractures during the study period. Which then gets sealed in by the automotive grade clear coat sprayed over it. The custom film, pattern of ink that’s applied on top of the base coat color, sticks to the part as it submerges into the water. Anyways, Hydrodipping is the process of applying ink to a 3D surface. Which was another learning experience for me that started off pretty ugly, but I had to learn how to paint in order to hydrodip. If you’re unfamiliar with this process, Hydrodipping is a form of customization, very similar to a custom automotive paint job. After months to years of trial and error, I had built my own lane and figured out how to create these pieces of work known as Hydrographics. The day I got back home to Detroit, I started accumulating things to build my own functioning dip tank. But, I knew I wanted to understand it and kept at it until I did. They even aced the quiz at the end, while I was still lost. My friend and his brother seemed to pick up on everything taught at this training session. The material sparked visions within me that I was determined to make my reality. Over this 16 hr course, the more I learned about this craft, the more intrigued and motivated I got. I accepted the invite, not knowing it would change my life forever. To my surprise there just happened to be an open seat available for me to join, while I was in town. He wanted to start his own company in Hydrographics and that same weekend, they were set up for a training course at TWN Industries. While I was down there, I spent some time with a friend and his brother who happened to work for a company who specializes in Hydrographics, also known as Water Transfer Printing. That spring I took a vacation to Florida to meet up with my brother. I had never heard of Hydrographics before 2018. This is just the beginning for me though.Īs always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context? Here I am 5 years later, having gone from a life that was on the path of destruction with drugs and alcohol, to a successful business owner being featured in articles like this one, giving me the opportunity to tell my story, and inspiring others along the way. I’ve found that to achieve anything meaningful, you must develop discipline and hold yourself accountable everyday. You have to believe in your vision before anyone else can see it. All while making environmental changes, eliminating toxic ppl/places/things in order to manifest my vision. It took a lot of failures, time and energy, learning how to do this on my own. I knew it would be a long journey with many bumps in the road but I was okay with that, I knew this was my calling. I didn’t let that stop me though, I was willing to do what it takes for as long as it takes to have the capability to deliver an extraordinary finished product from something that was once ordinary. A opportunity I couldn’t pass up.Ĭustom painting and hydrodipping, two things I knew absolutely nothing about. That was until I discovered Hydrographics. I always wanted to build my own company brick by brick to display my artistic expression, but I never developed the motivation or discipline needed to explore those avenues. The recent years leading up to 2018, I had a deep desire and a pull to change the direction my life was headed. When I’m passionate about an idea or belief, I’m all in. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea Stephen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We recently connected with Stephen Murphy and have shared our conversation below. |
